On the 26th February 2009 a delegation of thirteen reporters from Vietnam led by Ly Lan Phuong, the overseas training director of UNESCO University in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, visited our hospital. They were reporters from The Khoa Hoc Pho Newspaper, the S C Kh E & E S NG Newspaper, Voice of HCMC Radio, the Ph N Newspaper, Doanh Nhan Saigon Newspaper, the Th Tr Ng Newspaper, the VnExpress.net Online Newspaper and the Vietnam TV station - VTV-HCMC. Dr. Tr n Chí Ti n and Dr.V Duy Phi V of Ho Chi Minh Cancer Hospital, the largest cancer hospital in Vietnam, and five representatives of cancer patients from the hospital came together with the delegation. China and Vietnam are two neighboring states that have long enjoyed a relationship and strong ties. Upon their arrival at the airport, the delegates from Vietnam was warmly welcomed by the directors of Fuda Cancer Hospital-Guangzhou led by Dr. Feng Mu. In his welcoming speech at the hospital, Professor Kecheng Xu, the president of Fuda Cancer Hospital, described these delegates just as he would family members visiting China.Professor Cao Bin, a photodynamic therapy specialist, and Dr. Fu Qiang, an invasive therapy specialist and director Zhou Qiang briefed the Vietnamese delegation in their specialized fields, respectively. After the briefing, the delegates were brought around to visit the cryosurgery unit, which provided treatment for lung cancer and liver cancer, and the photodynamic therapy unit where patients with tongue cancer were treated, and the minimally invasive therapy unit which provided treatment for lung cancer. They were amazed to see how many cancer patients Fuda had from different countries such as Denmark, Sweden and South East Asia. For example, a patient by the name of Gurlin from Denmark was suffering from advanced pancreatic cancer with liver metastasis before she came to China; treatment at her home country was futile. She learned about Fuda Cancer Hospital and decided to come to Guangzhou for treatment at the hospital. She was given cryosurgery together with 125-Iodine seed implantation in Fuda Cancer Hospital. Her condition improved greatly and she has been living happily and in good health for more than a year. The delegations were also greatly impressed by the conducive and exquisite environment of the hospital. They praised the hospital highly and rated it as comparable to a five-star hotel.
