The head director of the Department of Internal Medicine from Chiba University Medical Science Institute, Dr. Osamu Yokosuka, and Keio University Medical Science Institute's Dr. Yutaka Kawakami, visited Fuda Cancer Hospital to watch a demonstration of cryosurgery as treatment for hepatic cancer and lung cancer.
Dr. Osamu Yokosuka presented “The Treatment of Hepatic Cancer in Japan,” an introduction about the development of a minimally invasive treatment for hepatic cancer patients in Japan. Dr. Yutaka Kawakami gave his lecture about “Immunotherapy for Cancer,” which discussed a model of therapy that combined DC cells with cryosurgery.
Both professors expressed their appreciation for contributions that Fuda has made in the fields of cryosurgery and CIC as treatment methods for cancer. Both Japanese representatives expressed their desire for future collaboration and research.
